Fisher Turns FOUR!

Our sweet Fish turned 4. He's become so independent this past year, getting himself dressed/undressed, preparing his own snack, buckling and unbuckling himself in the carseat, learning to control the TV remote (huge for us to sneak in more sleep on weekend mornings!).

Some fun memories/interests from the past year:

: Fisher mastered his pedal bike and learned to do "tricks" on and off the dirt track. So, he decided he wanted to kick it up a notch and learn to skateboard. We'll let the videos below show his very quick progress. Mr. Jason, one of his teachers actually teaches skate lessons and does an unbelievable job. It's nice that it's someone Fisher already knows and trusts.

: Buddy also took to soccer in the past few months. I signed him up for a spring break soccer camp, and he was instantly in love. So, he now plays every Sunday at Pease Park with Soccer Shots. He's ALL BUSINESS and super focused.

: According to his teachers, Fisher continues to do well in school, but he's definitely less cerebral than his sister. We're discovering that he's a "kinetic" learner - aka, can't sit still. So the teachers have to come up with game-like strategies for him to learn while moving (running, jumping, etc).

: Speaking of school, Fisher got into Mathews pre-k beginning in the Fall 2018. I'm thrilled for him since he'll be at a big kid school with Eleanor and thrilled for me because I'll have a FULL day of productivity. Gone are the days where I'm constantly interrupted with multiple drop offs/pick ups/nap schedules. He'll go to school a full day, just like sister.

: Fisher will still eat anything. Literally. But the favorites are watermelon, crunchy tacos, and dipper eggs (eggs over easy).

: Brother now very much has his own sense of style, which is basically dressing exactly like Daddy. Most days, he won't leave the house without a collared shirt, chinos, and leather belt. I try to get him to wear more play friendly clothes, but he won't budge. He likes what he likes!

: We have a HUGE infatuation with Daddy right now. I may be losing my top spot with the former Mama's Boy.

While you Fish is still ALL boy with the louder, faster, bigger mentality, he's also really sensitive. He loves babies and puppies and easily gets his feeling hurt.

From a development standpoint, here are Fisher's 4 year stats:

Height: 40.5" (51%)
Weight: 36 lbs (49%)

This kid is quite possible the most active kid I know. Every day I pick him up from school (regardless of the temp outside), he has rosy cheeks and his hair is sopping wet with sweat.

Fisher ended up going to his first Jayhawks game. It wasn't planned - he had to join our foursome because he was sick (we couldn't expose his germs to Baby Ryan - Laura was watching the kids that day). He pretty much slept all the way to/from Waco. And because he didn't feel well, he actually sat still in our laps the entire game. Poor kid.

Laura is back! She picks up the kids from school on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Fisher loves his time with Baby Ryan.

Fisher decided he wanted a Watermelon birthday party. So, I planned for a watermelon pinata. It showed up the day before his party and was too small. So, Justin took him to Pinata Row (Cesar Chavez Street) to pick out his own on the way to his party. This kid was in heaven and opted for a police car.
